Good Shepherd Adult Bible Study, each year (Sept. – May), unfolds teaching and learning of one book of Scripture or Scriptural passages on a focused topic from the Old and New Testaments.
We read passages and commentary aloud to experience the oral tradition of Lectio Divina.* Everyone shares how Scripture touches their spirit and soul through dialogue and conversational exchange in diverse and varied ways.
Questions are posed to stir one’s thoughts and imagination to learn about how Scripture acts in one's life.
*Lectio divina is a Latin for "divine reading." It is a meditative prayer way of reading the Bible. It involves engaging with Scripture and submitting to the "Voice" behind the text.
The practice helps one let go of a particular agenda and interiorly open oneself to what God is saying to them.
